Overview

Atacama is a satellite deposit of Jacinth Ambrosia and a potential extension to Iluka’s existing operations in South Australia. It is located ~5km from Jacinth Ambrosia, which is itself located ~200km southeast of Ceduna.

As a result of being located adjacent to Jacinth Ambrosia, Atacama would make use of existing operational infrastructure to maximise efficiency and reduce impacts where possible.

Currently in the latter stages of a pre-feasibility study (PFS), the Atacama project proposes to produce a heavy mineral concentrate. If executed, this material will be processed into final products at Iluka’s facilities in Western Australia.

The PFS is scheduled for completion in early 2023.
