Employment & Economic Contribution
In 2014, Iluka commissioned Ernst & Young to undertake economic impact assessments arising from its operations in Australia and the United States in 2013. The study revealed that Iluka's activities generated approximately 4,346 jobs across Australia, contributed an estimated $994 million to GDP and approximately $750,000 in direct social contribution via donations and sponsorships. In the United States, Iluka directly employed 226 people and indirectly contributed to the employment of more than 400 people. Iluka contributed approximately $13.5 million to the US economy and, indirectly, a further $22.1 million.
