ILUKA RESOURCES is major participant in the global mineral sands sector and in involved in the exploration, project management, operations and marketing of zircon and titanium based products. With a head office in Perth, we also have existing operations in Western Australia, Victoria, South Australia, and the USA.

We currently have an opportunity at our corporate head office in Perth for an experienced Senior Contracts Specialist.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager this role will be instrumental in providing procurement solutions across spend areas such as Utilities, Coal, Chemicals, Travel, Fuel, Vehicles and others. This role suits current procurement professionals who have proven experience with supplier relationship management (SRM), strategic sourcing, tendering and commercial negotiations ideally within the resources industry.

As the successful applicant, you will have a high level of personal drive and initiative, together with an internal customer focus, communication, negotiation and decision making skills to implement contracts and provide supplier relationship management, benefiting Iluka across a broad range of contracts. Consistent with Iluka's focus you will have proven experience in managing Environmental, Health and Safety requirements within Manufacturing, Resources or similar industry.

Key accountabilities include:

  • management of selected procurement contracts;
  • conducting tendering, detailed evaluation/negotiation and recommendation of contract awards;
  • supporting the Contracts Manager with contract based business solutions; and
  • providing procurement support to Iluka Corporate, Operations, Projects and other departments as required.

 Qualifications & Experience required:

  •  Proven experience in a Procurement Contracts Specialist role;
  • Excellent knowledge of contract formation, applications of commercial contracts, variations, deeds and supporting documentation;
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial and competition legislation across the different states of Australia;
  • Practical commercial experience; including sound knowledge of different industries and their structures;
  • Accomplished negotiator; with advanced written and verbal communication skills;
  • SAP experience is desirable, as is an advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite applications; and
  • Knowledge of e-tendering or other procurement software packages is advantageous.
