ILUKA RESOURCES is a major participant in the global mineral sands sector and is involved in the exploration, project management, operations and marketing of zircon and titanium based products.  With a corporate support centre in Perth, we also have activities in regional Western Australia, Victoria, South Australia, USA and Sierra Leone.


We have an opportunity for an experienced safety professional to join the Projects team. Reporting to the Project Manager you will be responsible for  planning, coaching, providing guidance, advice and practical support to employees and contractors to achieve expected health and safety outcomes. Critical to this role is the ability to communicate, engage and influence key stakeholders.

·        Teritiary qualifications in health and safety

·        Demonstrated experience in heavy industry in a project management environment

·        A track record in achieving high levels of health and safety performance

·        In-depth understanding and application of mine safety legislation

·        A pragmatic approach to management systems and transference of systems to field activities

·        Experience in facilitating risk management, particularly critical risks

·        Strong interpersonal skills at all levels within project management

·        An understanding of personal decision making and the ability to influence decision making

·        Experience in managing a small health and safety team

This position will initially be based in our Perth office and will work primarily on a 40 hour week, Monday to Friday. The position will revert to a site based roster as the project moves into construction. During construction, this position will be a hands-on role with an expectation of high visibility in the field.
