Maintenance Mechanical Technicians - Jacinth-Ambrosia, South Australia

An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and motivated Maintenance Mechanical Technician to join Iluka’s Jacinth-Ambrosia Mineral Sands Operation in South Australia.

Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, the primary function of the role is to assist in the optimisation of plant availability by carrying out maintenance tasks on fixed and mobile equipment in accordance with established Iluka standards, including safety and environmental procedures.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Recommend and perform preventative maintenance routines, inspections and carry out troubleshooting and diagnostic analysis;
  • Solve reliability issues using fault finding abilities;
  • Continual assessment of the process, equipment and procedures as well as trouble shooting problems.

To be considered for this role applicants will require:

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate – Fitting & Machining / Boilermaker;
  • At least 5 years’ experience in mining or mineral processing or a related environment;
  • A valid ‘C’ class drivers licence;
  • Ability to supervise contractors and small site projects;
  • Good numerical, literacy and computer skills with proficiency in SAP or similar;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including motivation to work in a team;
  • Ability to adhere to Environmental, Health & Safety and Company standards and policies;
  • High standard of behaviors that align with Iuka’s values of Commitment, Integrity & Responsibility;
  • Desirable, though not essential: Vehicle Crane, EWP, Forklift licenses, First Aid certificate;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work and interact with others in a dynamic environment;
  • A team oriented approach to undertaking tasks but also able to display initiative and work independently.

 

This position is offered on an 8 day on, 6 day off roster arrangement, fly in/fly out from Adelaide or Ceduna.
